Hi
My pig Pinky has chronic bloat for over a year now which is managed with ranitidine, metacam and gripe water. He is mostly ok with this, occasionally he has a mild flare up of the bloat still.

The other concern is he has a mammary cyst which the vet is aware of and said if it grows it will have to be removed, she believes it isn’t cancerous. So now I’ve noticed this cyst has grown quite a bit in the last couple of months, and I think I can feel a new one coming up on the other side!

I’m very anxious to get them removed in case he has a fatal episode of bloat after the surgery, he doesn’t seem to be in pain from them, but I feel like they may be the cause of he bloat? Could this be possible?
I just really wanted a few other opinions as I am very confused and worried about what to do.. so I get it removed or do people think this would be too risky with his existing conditions?

Thanks x

Hello

So sorry to hear of the problems Pinky is having. I can’t advise but I’m sure one of the more experienced members can offer advise. X

Thanks for all your support, I’ll think I’ll have to take him in an exotics specialist x
