Hello everyone,

Last night I found a bloody lump of flesh in the cage. I checked both Guinea Pigs and I found no injures or any other blood round the cage the whole night. They are not peeing blood and they behave like their normal selves, eating, drinking and popcorny.

I took them both to the vet this morning as I don't know which Guinea Pig it came from. I showed the vet the lump but he had no idea what it was and never seen anything like it before. He double checked they are both female and checked both parts below but couldn't find any bleeding or who it could of came from. He offered to send it off for testing but because it was from last night he said it would probably come back as inconclusive. He sent use home with some antibiotics.

I am still very worried about what it could be, can anyone help?

The lumps size is as long as my pinky finger.

Kind Regards,
Tangy & Brownie <3

Is there any chance your girls have been with a boar and it might be a miscarriage?
If not, my best guess (and it’s only that) is that this is something from the reproductive tract. I think if you don’t know which one produced it then the best thing to do is to keep a watching brief. Montitor weight and behaviour closely and if you notice any changes then I’d ask the vet for a scan.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply, my two Pigs have only been with each other and 100% confirmed females. We did think that at first but we really don't know what to think now.

I can’t offer any advice but can perfectly understand your worry.
It’s good you were able to see a vet so promptly.
Watching and waiting is hard but hoping there’s nothing to worry about
