So Silk did NOT earn a treat today. It was all going so well until we just had one left, that hard-to-reach inside front left one.

Two bites for one claw (no broken skin, admittedly - more like hard nips) is a bit much. :rant:
 
You’re braver than I am.
I take mine to see the vet nurse who clips their claws, weighs them so their vet record is updated and she gives them a quick check too.
 
I get sprayed with pee by one of my sows when I try and do that nail. Think I’d rather she nipped me!
 
my guinea pig hates me touching his paw he bite hard and scratches and sometimes i bleed from scratching and cutting his nails is a nightmare

I so should do that. When I say it was "going well" I'm talking about the usual ten minutes or so of cuddling, reassuring, hiding in my clothes, getting her out again, repeat-as-desired for EACH claw.
 
Given the fact that when it comes to claw clipping Merab is a gold medal wriggler I know I don’t have enough hands and arms to cope!
 
Makes me feel lucky. My lot don't mind theirs being done. Meg just doesnt like the inner claw on the left front leg being done for some weird reason.
 
My William is a biter when doing nail clipping. The time before last, I ended up with a big bite to the stomach, broken skin and everything. He didn’t get his post-nail clipping treat after that haha. Last night I managed to distract him with lots of lettuce and came away unscathed :yahoo:he usually ignores the veggies I try to distract him with because he’s a grump and only wants to sink his teeth into my flesh lol.
 
I take mine to the vet to get their nails clipped since its very hard for me to see the blood vessels on one of them since he has brown claws
