I bought some c&c grids a few days ago and built the pigs a second level to their cage.

I was wondering how people with levels clean their cages, do you have to remove the whole level everytime? I'm using fleece so I can't scoop up the bedding around it

It depends how big the second level is, and whether your second level is one grid or half a grid off the floor level... our loft is just a small 1x2 and is 1 grid high so we can easily clean underneath without removing it. If its bigger and/or lower and you can't reach to sweep and wipe under it then it may need to come off...

My main issue is just getting the fleece in/out from under it

Hmm... not sure! Hopefully someone with a larger lower loft will be along soon to help, can you post a photo so we can visualise the problem?
Yup, I can't take a new one this moment so sorry for the bad quality

Also the ramp is temporary until I get the materials to build one, there's a tunnel on it now

Oh I see its free standing on the cage floor... maybe you could buy smaller fleece liners to fit underneath it rather than using one big fleece? Smaller ones are quite cheap and easy to get pre-made from ebay...

I'll have a look into them

I don't know if this would work, but I used cable-ties on the top so it made a kind of hinge so I could just pull up the part and shuffle the fleece in place. The picture was taken before I had the fleece in, but I used to just lift the part near to the blue litterbox up.

I only got my C&c cage the other day so haven’t cleaned it out yet. I can tell mine will be a bit problematic as the second level is 2x2, however as my cage is currently on the floor and I’m only small I can just climb in and reach underneath to sort the fleece out. And to remove the fleece I can just pull it out from the part I can get to easily?
Maybe we should get those long litter picker stick thingys that have the claw on the end so we can reach in the corners lol!

I have a weird 'dog leg' in one corner of the C&C, and need to slide a fleece in and out underneath a couple of grids (it's complex becasue it involves giving Ruby a shared wall with the neighbour pigs, but not too much shared wall because, Ruby...).
I used to drag the liner in and out but it was tricky, so I ended up making a smaller liner to fit the exact shape of the space.
This is super easy to pop in and out, and so far no burrowing underneath where the main liner meets the dog leg liner.
