Hi, I think I’ve posted before about making sure my male skinny pig is clean if his skin is a little oily do I leave it or do I have to buy a special soap to clean him? I just don’t want to use or do the wrong thing and hurt his skin cause I know they’re sensitive.

Hello I’d just leave it - I have a skinny pig Freddy - I questioned my Vet about his skin when he had little scratches , some dryness and an oily grease gland - she advised leaving his skin alone - she said scratches will happen but will quickly heal and that the dryness is normal and his grease gland is normal - she mentioned not to wash him as it will upset the ph level of his skin and cause dryness.
I do soak Freddy’s back feet as he has some redness but that’s under her supervision .
They are great little characters aren’t they ?

I have had skinny pigs for 6 years now. We currently have 3. You definitely shouldn't bathe them. This can upset the natural oils in their skin which can make them more prone to fungal infections. Yuk.

Skinnies have huge personalities and big appetites. Mine are very vocal and feeding time is mayhem.

Enjoy your piggies and if you have any questions, do ask.😃
