Those of you with carpet, how do you keep it hay free?

I have a small shop vac for crumbs and small pieces but was wondering if a broom would work on carpet.

Picking it up by hand is time consuming.

Id like to deep clean their room.

A carpet washer is the best for deep cleans. I bought a fairly cheap one and it's going OK. What In see coming out of the carpet is a bit 😯 I think there are companies which hire them or come in and do the cleaning 🧹🧼 In between, a Miele vacuum with a bag should work OK. I've got a cheap bagged vac and the bag has stopped the hay from getting into the filter so it has survived for about a year and a half. It is a very cheap bagged vac which needs to be dragged around, but it is light. The bag is small, so I need to buy bags quite often, but I don't need to clean out the filter really, so I think if works. I have a rubber / silicone broom and dustpan and brush and they are good for getting hair out of the carpet and for cardio as well 😄

The rubber broom makes the carpet pile lift so rejuvenates the carpet.

Another vote for a rubber broom/brush. I also used to keep an old bit of vinyl flooring under the edges of the cage to make it easier to sweep up the hay. But the best thing we ever did was to replace the carpet in the piggy room and install a wooden, sweepable floor.

Just used the rubber broom and it's 93% better. Could use a vacuum now but I'll wait.

The boys thought the sweeping meant food so both wheeked the whole time I was cleaning.

Cheering you on 😉 That's great, they are very satisfying as they get all the stuff out of the carpet 🧹👍 don't need a cable or recharging and you can listen to music / podcasts while cleaning 🎧
