How tall does a hutch roof have to be for pigs? For rabbits is has to be tall enough for them to stand up does this apply for piggies too? We are in the planning stage for a 3 tier hutch being built by the hubby. He wants to have a foot high each tier I say they need more, who's right?
 
id give them room to stand up plus a few inches if it was mine, but they deffo should have it so they can at least stand up.
 
i would do this too, they do like to have a nose and stretch up, give them a few more inches on top too like spudnik says, good advice!
 
So would 1.5 ft (high) a level do then? Need to be exact so I can say we need it this high to hubby. Before he goes ahead and makes the frame.
 
yes i think this would be ok, i dont have a measure near me so cant really tell what that is though but off top of my head, i think will be ok. you could always make it higher, or make a two tier hutch?
 
I'm thinking about a 3 tier one because it will be home to two boars as soon as it is built and we have found a rescue male that George likes. It will be attached to a permanent run outside of around 5ft long and as wide as the hutch.

The frame wood hasn't even been cut yet so theres plenty of time for tickering.
