Toffo has the occasional 'click' in his lungs tonight. Is it worth taking him to the vet? It's only occasional, he's eating and pooping normally, and he's a 'heavy breather' at the best of times.

I thought I'd give him Sudafed in the meantime - does anyone know what the dosage should be?

Thanks!

Not sure on ther dosage but could be the start of a chest infection which needs to be seen by a vet for antibitiocs.

Hope he is ok. :smitten:

The dose is 0.3ml. If he is no better tomorrow,or is worse,a antibiotic will be needed.Septrin is the best for urti.

Hi there, my 2 chaps had something similar a while back and i would said definitely take yours to the vets, if just to put your mind at ease, turned out my two needed a 3 day course of baytril. Good luck! ;)

Just back form the vet - he's back on the Baytril, 0.5ml twice a day.

The vet also recommended giving him a probiotic - I've got both Biolapis and Critical Care, but I'm not sure which is best and what the dosage is? Can anyone help?

Thanks!

i use bio lapis added to 50ml of water, syringe as much as you can of that :)

Yep. Bio Lapis is a good probiotic, give it an hour or so after the antibiotics (any sooner and the a/b will kill off the "good bacteria" in the probiotic). Which Critical Care were you given? The Oxbow stuff is a great complete handfeeding solution if piggy isn't eating. If it's Vetark Critical Care Formula, I wouldn't bother with it.

yeah bio lapis is good O0 critical care (oxbow) is also good if he isn't eating O0

The correct dosage for Baytril is 0.4ml or 0.5ml per day.

Make the bio-lapis satchet up as per instructions on the packet and give little and often through tyhe day.

I rarely give critical care by itself.I grind up some dry mix in a coffee grinder and mix to a "soup" with warm water, add 2 teaspoonfuls of critical care.Pureed veg can be given as well. This will provide a near normal diet.Try and encourage the gp to eat a bit of hay and dried grass.
