cuddles

Hi everyone.i have decided to close the rescue. One person (a breeder) whome i have tried to deal with nicely after rescuing 50+ pregnant pigs from in appaling condition has caused me such grief that i have decided it is too much to deal with and i am closing down the rescue. The only other gp rescue that has been on hiatus with financial difficulties for the past year has opened again and so i feel it is a good time to shut the doors

Aaaw Cuddles dont close down just becuse their are some evil people out who dont relise that you will be giving those pigs a better life !
You were/still are doing a wonderful job looking after and rescing pigpies

Please dont shut down :)

Cuddle's its not easy running a rescue but your are doing a wonderful job of looking after them and giving them all love.
I know ppl can be evil but you are better than that person

xx

I dont understand.we are self funded (by me) and everything i do i pay for its not like i get donations from the public or any other help but yet they feel it is their duty to try and shut me down. She has over 400 pigs which she farms and sells to pet stores.Half the breeders use hammers and awful things to kill pigs when they have overcrowding and yet they want to close me down as i rehome to the public and take away the potential sales from them.woohoo $15.00 nzd it costs 2x that to feed them for a week lol and adoptions are farrr less often than incoming piggys lol

Aww, hugs Sweetie... you're doing the best you can, and I hope that nasty person gets their karma catching up with them real soon. Whatever you decide, I'm sure people here will offer you their support.

Very true hun (pigglywink's rachel)
What ever you decide i will support you
xx

Thanks everyone i am just finding it all exhausting. When i started up there were two other rescues in nz.The one that has been on hiatus charges huge amounts for adioption fees and is funded by the public. They get a lot of people helping and adopting from them and are great, even desexing boars as they can afford to.they can only house 50 pigs at a time.the other one was appauling and used to keep them in aviarys and closed down.I started up to house the pigs that came from that rescue and kept going untill i can house over 100 pigs easily here.I currently have 92 pigs.

Hun, it sounds like your doing a wonderful job and dont let no one tell you otherwise, you are a good person
xx

Do what you think i bet Jess. I know its hard work and isn't a rewarding job at times. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

i admire you greatly for what you do, it is something i have often thought about doing. Don't let one stupid person stop you. Think of all the piggies you have helped, they will be truely greatful to you.

Oh Jess, I cannot believe this. You have worked so hard and i admire you so much.

I understand you have to do whats needed, you have thought long and hard about it, but its so sad.

I wish you all the best whatever decision you make. It's not easy I know and you'll always have the rescue and protect instinct, but you must do what is right for you and your circumstances.

You're a wonderful person to care for so many.

Best wishes
Claire

I am so sorry that you've had to come to this decision but I fully understand and would just like to thank you on behalf of all the piggies that you've rescued. I hope you're able to keep some piggies for yourself. Good luck for the future.

That is such a shame...I hope you can rconsider but if not, then you know you have helped many piggies in your time and that is a wonderful thing.

Best wishes x

Awww I'm sorry to hear that you have had to make this decision. I do not run a rescue or anything myself but can understand how difficult it must be to do so. Well done for all the hard work that you have done and for all those piggies that you have helped. It is such a shame that you need to do this :( Good luck for whatever you decide to do in the future xx

Whatever you do we all will support you through it ! We know what a brilliant job you do and if the piggies youve resuced could say something then iam sure their say what a brilliant person you are !

I agree 100% with this - it has to be your decision, and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we will support you. I just think it's such a shame that someone like yourself who has done such wonderful work for so many piggies, is being targeted by this breeder person who is only "in it" for profit. And to think you've funded it all yourself is pretty amazing too. Bless you for what you've done, and whatever happens, please keep in touch with us all through the Forum. :(

I am so sorry to hear that you have decided this but you have to do what is right for you. It is a strain on your resources and wellbeing. It is so sad that there are just such horrible people out there who belittle the work that you do - karma will get them back for that.

Maybe after a wee break - you will want to re-start it again.

Good luck for the future - we all support you in whatever you decide to do.
