2 of my guinea pigs (both living together, sisters) seem to have started closing their eyes whilst eating, does anyone know what this means?

They don't close them fully, just half way, then open them again, and it's re-occuring..

Nothing to worry about!

I hope not, it just doesn't seem right.. They nod their heads a bit too when they eat.

I wouldn't of thought it was a tooth problem due to both of them doing it. I really dont want another 2 vet bills :(

Some of mine do it and have been doing it for while - and they are perfectly healthy! The first sign of tooth trouble is often slow chewing, weight loss and dribbling.

I hope so, it's made me feel a little better. Another friend told me they could be bored, is this true?

I really want to let them out on the grass but it's just too cold and rainy :(, they seem to always be in their hutches as I don't know where to let them out for play time.

Not bored, just lazy or chewing on chunks of food/big pellets.

I can't help but feel guilty, if i'm honest they never come out of their hutches in the winter apart from if it's cage cleaning time. What if it's made them ill? Ahhh bad piggie mummy :(

I need to start getting them out a lot more.

Do you not have a garage that if is not being used that they could have a run around in, or have you got a paddling pool you could take indoors and blow up, for short periods of time, to let them run around in.

Yes I'm going to be laying their run on the floor in the big shed and letting them have a run around in that :)
