Just rushed down to the vet with little snoop his eye had gone blue and cloudy. Apparently he has scratched it the vet put what looked like dye in his eye. We have Fucithalmic vet drops and he needs to go back Thursday for a check, he seems ok I was so worried.

It's always worrying when they hurt themselves. If it persists please ask you vet to check for possible abscess which can cause pressure & cause the eye to look like a pearl. This happened with Minky last year & shortly after she had an abscess. Once the abscess was removed her eye went back to normal. Chances are though that it's just a hay prick or similar.

I hope he recovers soon. Do not worry as I am sure the eye drops will sort out the eye. Two of mine have had hay pokes and those drops cleared it up.

Hope he feels better soon!

Hope he feels better soon, well done on getting him to the vet so promptly.

I hope that he will feel better again soon! Eye ulcers are not rare (that is what the dye is for). Thankfully, they generally tend to go down quite quickly, especially if it is just a scratch and not a full poke. Good on you for having him seen promptly!

if you struggle to get the ointment into the eye, distract him with a bowl of freshly cut grass or his favourite veg. Piggies can't multitask, so it is usually much easier when he is concentrated on something else.

The cloudy eye looks bad, but it's the normal reaction when there's a poke or a scratch. Eye injuries usually heal pretty quickly when treated and the ointment is good stuff. Well done on the speedy treatment!

Hi, examine his hay for sharp strands that can poke his eye and re injure him. Before you put hay in the pen, crush it with your hand so that there are no sharp points.
