Hey guys I've just noticed one of pom poms eyes is cloudy, I had a look and there was a bit of hay stuck in there, I removed it, but I'm worried the damage has been done.

Does anyone else have experience of this?

He needs to see a vet . Hay pokes are very painful and , without treatment , the eye can get worse . Some vets offer routine appointments on a Saturday

Agree with above needs a vet today. Try will need antibiotic eye drops please also ask for some metacam pain relief to give at home

:agr:
Both of my two boys have had haypokes. The vet will pop in some dye to check it all out and then antibiotic drops are the treatment. Eyes can deteriorate quickly so do see a vet today.

Ok all sorted. Anti inflammatorys and antibiotics given. Came to £66 altogether just to give others an indication. Vet was lovely and helpful too.
Glad you could get such fast treatment, it makes all the difference with eye injuries! £66 sounds very reasonable, we've not had a haypoke eye injury yet (well actually I had one myself but not any of the pigs!) but that's very helpful for people to know :)

Glad you got it checked out and hope it heals up well! That looks sore and you always want to keep on top of eye injuries! Wishing a speedy recovery!
