Cloudy mark on eye

Hello not posted on here for a while. I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what this is on Joey's eye. He has developed a small white/cloudy mark on his right eye. His other eye is clear, the eye did weep a little (watery) but now seems to be ok and this is his eye today. Is this anything to worry about and shall a book a vet visit?

Looks like an ulcer, probably caused by a slight injury.

If caught soon, with the right veterinary treatment, the eye can go on to make a full recovery.

I'd strongly advise a vet visit today, to get this nipped in the bud.

It looks like a little ulcer from a hay poke but could be the start of cataracts. Personally though id say it was a bad hay poke and a corneal ulcer. Ditto had one 2 months ago and it is only just healing after having two different lotions from the vet. You definatly need to get your pig to the vet for treatment as ulcers untreated are not only very painful but can cause blindness and even the loss of the eye. Let us no how he goes on and i hope your piggy gets well soon x
 
Thanks i was thinking it was hay poke after some reading. Hopefully i can get an appointment this evening :) xx
 
Hes booked in for 5.10pm today, unfortunately my guinea pig vet is off for 8 weeks as he is having neck surgery. Hopefully the other vet will be as good.
 
Best of luck! I am sure that you will get proper treatment as eyes are similar in all mammals. thankfully, with the right treatment, eye injuries tend to heal quite quickly.
 
Cheeky had something similar to this I was given fucithalmic eye drops and it cleared in days I was told to use it for a week though. He also said once it starts to go white it's healing!
 
Just got back from the vets. THey put dye in his eye so now his white fur looks like he Is turning into the hulk. But the good news is she said it must gave been a hay poke and is now healing but he has conjuntivitus So has antibiotic eye drops. Hopefully it will heal fully.
