The new furniture arrived for the small pet room and I have been busy putting trying to sort everythingnout and start putting it together. but while moving the boys cage back to the room to go on their new table, my arms just gave out and i dropped it! I dropped my poor babies :( they were so scared! and i slashed my finger from the bars as it fell. I feel so stupid and like a bad parent. I should of just waited for Mr Bubblegum to come home next week :(

Oh, I put the carrier on the office chair in the spare room, my youngest 2 in it, cleaned the cage out, then, topple, crash, the chair moved, the carrier fell, and my young boys were covered in hay in the corner of the carrier looking a little surprised. They were fine, I felt so guilty, they had extra veg.

I nearly squashed one of mine. She was under the fiddlesticks bridge when I fell .I landed with one hand on the bridge. She was trapped underneath.Don't know how I managed to shift my weight so she could get out.Have decided to take out the bridgr

I think we have all had a heart sink moment when we have had a near miss. This doesn't mean you are a bad guinea pig owner - but it is good that we can share our mistakes - anything that can prevent these things happening again is good

I think most of us have done similar! My mishap was at the vet's on one of Peanut Butter's monthly dental appointments. I went to transfer him from his car carrier to his hospital cage in the vet's waiting room in front of the admitting nurse. Didn't realise I hadn't shut the clasp tightly so when I lifted the carrier handles the top flipped up, the base swung backwards & PB fell out. Fortunately I was doing it over a chair & he fell on the chair. It was one of those hard plastic chairs so not exactly a soft landing. He was fine if somewhat indignant judging by his squeals. At least if there had been an injury he was in the right place already! I, however, was rather embarassed as it happened in front of the nurse.

Don't worry, we all have moments like that! Once while I was reaching for Caramel in his hutch, Doughnut backed away from my arm and fell out of the door and landed on the patio. He looked around confused as I quickly picked him up. This was before Caramel and Doughnut fought.

Also one time I got Caramel to climb on to my arm, then when I picked him up he squirmed. I began holding my arm out for him to walk into his hutch, but I accidentally let him jump off early so he hit his head on the ceiling of his hutch and landed clumsily in the hutch. He yawned grumpily and has been fine since, but I got so terrified!

I'm probably going to drop Caramel again one day, when I am holding him he does nothing but try to jump off...

I've only had my piggies since May by the way. :P
