just moving piggies around and i noticed underneath coco's nipple there is a lump - you cant see it, but you can feel a lump. Firstly I am unsure whether it's an abscess - he had a abscess last year after he had the chop and with medication it went, that was where his private bits were, but this lump is underneath the skin it where his nipple is - what could it be?
I don't know why but I feel really down - I just feel like if its not one thing, its another - i always seem to have problems with the piggies :( I have never known an animal to get so many things wrong with them.

I'm sorry i've no advice as to what it could be - sure someone else will have. I Coco will be ok xx

It could be a mammary gland tumour, (non-malignant) which is fairly common in males. If you squeeze the nipple there may be a slight discharge. I have had several with this problem and I have always adopted a policy off wait and watch. The lump can get quite large but it doesn't seem to bother the pig. A potential problem with having them removed is the possible blood loss.
I have removed a number of lumps post mortem to satisfy my curiousity as to their constitution and they have all been of an encapsulated, fatty nature, with few blood vessels.

I would keep an eye on it for about a week. If it gets bigger or if it starts to affect Coco then I would take him to the vet for a check up. There are many different types of lumps. If it's not bothering him then I would personally leave it alone. My sow was covered in lumps, especially as she got older and none of them bothered her, as they were mainly fatty lumps. Hope the link helps :)

I just had a quick look on that link rw3399 and I have to say it looks exactly like the Mammary Tumors, which if it is, is going to mean an operation. I shall monitor him now through the week and if its still there, vets will be in order. I hope to god it's not an operation needed - I had to take one of my other piggies the other week and that was £80 - I am skint, though it it needs doing i shall have to borrow the money.

If you think that's it's serious then it probably is best to have Coco checked out :)

I got coco out again tonight and went to show my boyfriend, as he's been away fishing since Friday and the lump has gone totally down! its still there, but has deffo gone down - my bf said see if it goes down anymore and if not get him off the vets, which I shall do and he said I can borrow some money from him if he has to have an operation xx
