Sometime overnight (I didn’t notice it yesterday) Coco has ripped out one of her nails. It’s scabbed over nicely and she’s not limping or anything and busy eating a pile of hay like nothing has happened. Is there anything I need to put on it or just leave it and watch for infection. I’m a bit reluctant to touch it as it looks like it is healing on its own and I don’t wanna make it worse.

@Kylie80 Just keep a close eye on it for signs of infection.
I've had it happen before to a piggy. They were fine but the nail grew back a bit deformed.

I don’t know how she did it. Theres no blood on the fleece that I can see anywhere. My poor baby and they aren’t really a animal that like to be comforted at least not her, she’s terribly shy.

I would definitely keep an eye on it. If it has already scabbed then hopefully it shouldn't cause anymore problem but watch out for redness, swelling or her going lame.

My piggy did this on Christmas Eve last year, had me worried sick. I just kept an eye out for infection and only now is it getting back to length for trimming.
