Coco has been hooting on and off for three months.she does not seem compromised in anyway.she has lost 100grams in weight, but so has her husboar Pizza, both have switched to grainfree pellets ,so i wondered if this was due to these pellets !coco is booked into see a very cavy savvy vet next week.just wondered if anyone has any thoughts.as 3 months is long enough,i want a vet to check her out.no clicking in the lungs,no discharge from nose or eyes.

All the best with the vet visit! Hopefully it is just an age related narrowing of the airways.

The change to grain-free pellets can come with weight loss as they contain less fattening filler products.

Thanks for the reply, probably age related as coco is four years of age !thanks for confirming that grainless pellets can cause weight loss!.we are going to Northampton to see a vet !
