Yes they are finally back together after smudge was castrated. My husband spent around 3 hours putting the hutch back to how it should have been (2 story with a ramp going down to the lower level) The floor with the hole cut out for the ramp didn't fit properly so he had to fit battons to the hutch (with much cursing & swearing) He then but a small barrier in so the guineas wouldn't fall down in the dark. Whilst he was sorting the hutch out I gave the guineas their first bath I was surprised that they didn't protest too much.I kept them in all day in a cat box on the couch with a microwave teddy wrapped in a pillowcase. They looked sooo cute with their fur all bouffant. When they finally went back into the hutch They wern't too impressed with the lack of space upstairs & refused to use the ramp to go downstairs. Whils I'm in work today hubby is under orders to carpet the ramp so hopefully they will be using it later I had to hoover the couch last night to get rid of all the poo & hay even though I'd put fleeces down.I get all the lovely jobs!!

That's great news. :) How long did you wait to put him with your female and which vet did you use? Its just I am getting one neutered in the next month so want a vet who knows what they are doing. :)

Any piccies! :)

I waited exactly 4 weeks before I put him back with Coco without supervision. I let them have 'playtime' together during that time though on my settee with either myself or OH watching over them to make sure Smudge didn't try any funny business!. I took him to Springbank vets in Prescot I think I was charged about £39.

Thanks for that. I've two options here but if they aren't used to neutering I will go to Prescot. :)

Sorry didn't notice the last comment about piccies...I tried to put some on the other week but it kept saying wrong username/password so I gave up.

If you create your own photobucket account you may have more luck. You can put them on the forum once uploaded using the link beginning with [Img :)

I was advised to wait 4 - 6 weeks after neutering before putting a boar in with a sow. Latent sperm in the tubes could cause a problem - well a pregnancy - apparently! rolleyes

I paid nearly £60 down in the South West. Very good vet though who has won national awards, expensive but very thorough.

I love my neutered boars. I love to watch them being nagged but trying to appear dominant, but letting the sows take the best food without even a fight. Love them!
Who are you having neutered SunshineAndTwinkle?

My vet said about 3 wks before putting them back together but I waited 4 wks. Coco still won't let Smudge near her ...when he starts rumble-strutting around her he gets a face full of wee. He's so daft he carrys on he doesn't get the message. He's still got some threads of his stiches hanging from his nether regions but he's not in the slightest bit bothered by them.
