Hi!

Please use the tricks in these links here to avoid pick up tussles and to assert your dominance (but also convey your love) in piggy language; that should take care of your problems!
Cocoa is currently not a very happy boy and obviously rather blames you for splitting him. :(

You can always try! If it doesn't work, contact East Peckham Guinea Pig Rescue. They offer a residential bonding service, which means that any resulting successful boar bond is as stable as a sow bond, as they are very carefully bonded for character compatibility and then the bond is stress tested to make sure that it survives the move back home to you. That is well worth going on a waiting list and the extra effort! ;)

Take your time to read through our bonding advice at the top of this section (it is very detailed and comprehensive), or contact the rescue and ask them whether they would be prepared to try to see whether your two bereaved boys would gel before they try them with boars of their own for a small donation.

Or try April Lodge Guinea Pig Rescue; they also have a residential boar bonding service: April Lodge Guinea Pig Rescue | Facebook

Please be aware that not every baby works out - we have come across plenty of boars who reject one baby but are in love with another. Age is not crucial, it is mutual liking. That is why rescue dating is so important. It allows the boars to decide whether they want to get on. Cocoa comes home only with a mate (irrespective of whether it is an adult or a baby) only if they get on really well and you do not have to worry about fall-outs at a later time. ;)
