Is there anything I can do so that whenever I get up, Cocoa won't go running back into her hiding spot? It seems she trusts me and likes me, but I'm not sure why she still runs away.

My Finn adores me with all his heart but he still gets startled and hides when I move around him. I think it is because I am much bigger than him. I don't mind that he hides, and I actually think he should hide when he gets scared.

Ah gotcha, maybe it’s just Cocoa’s instinct to run!

Acorn used to do that when she was first living in my room, she doesn’t do it so much anymore but I think it is just a prey instinct. It might decrease as she gets used to it. Xx

It's just instinct... they are prey animals and wired to make a dash for it should something move in the environment. Time and familiarity will reduce this as they learn that you moving doesn't mean something is coming to get them.
