Cocoa’s “new” hay rack

I noticed Cocoa wasn’t very fond of her hay rack, so Let’s see if she likes this more

Did you just cut out the plastic? I was gonna make a thread on asking about homemade hay racks since my hay is on the floor of the cage. The pigs didn’t like the bought hay rack I should have went home made

yup! I got out the plastic and then shaped it so it'd be easier for Cocoa to eat out of

So far Cocoa likes it! The only problem is that she keeps tipping it over

Well the tissue box didn’t last very long Cocoa kept moving it around and tipping it over. At least we tried it

Haha can totally imagine! I try and be a bit exciting, hang egg boxes down stuffed with tasty stuff, extra long tubes and all sorts. Get destroyed and peed on very shortly after!
It's all new stuff so sure piggies loved it! for a short time!

Would it be worth trying to cut down the opening at the front so there's only a tiny bit there? I know Comet used to always tip things over if he had to reach into something like a bowl because he'd rest his front paws on the edge and he was heavier than he thought he was. Is she leaning on that front edge at all?

I can't tell, but I'd assume so

Maybe if she's not leaning, she wouldn't tip it over?

I mean, she could also be like Comet, where something isn't worth eating out of unless you can throw it around the place. It's always a possibility.

I strongly recommend hay trays, I use mine with a layer of litter underneath (to soak up pee etc) works like a charm, doubles as a bed too

I switched back to Cocoa's old hay rack at least the box was worth a try!
