8:)Oh No! I had coconut outside today on my lap while I was trimming her nails. She did a little pee onto the white towel I had her on and I noticed it was a pinkish color! Also these past few days their cage has been smelling a lot more then normal.

As a first time owner I am still learning the ropes. At first I thought she just might be in heat but from the info I am reading it states that females do not bleed.?!?! With that information I am now asuming this may be something serious. My next guess would be a UTI... Any recommendations??

I can not get her to the vet until tomorrow evening and $$ is a factor right now. mallethead Is there anything I can do at home first?

Also, should I seperate her from her sister?

Thanks for any help! :{

UTI is more than likely. Home treatment? As much pure cranberry juice as you can get into her, some pigs like, it others need it to be syringe fed. An amount of 30-40ml per day, should be an achievable "target"

The antibiotic to use is Septrin, Paediatric Suspension, 0.5ml twice daily for 10-14 days.
She needs to be checked for the presence of a bladder stone.

LHazel, in the US Septrin is more usually known as Bactrim or Trimethoprim Sulpha.

Please ask the vet for a painkiller and some probiotic when she has her antibiotic, so she is a lot more comfortable.

Alternatively, you can give her paracetamol for babies - although I don't know how it is called in the US and what the correct dose is, but it should be comparatively cheap.
