I am a new guinea pig owner, I have had my two female pigs for about 2 months now (Sasha and Emma). I noticed today that Sasha's feet felt very cold when I first took her out of her cage. I take them out every day, and I have never once noticed this before. I'm just wondering if I should be worried, does this ever mean they are sick? I would be heartbroken if something happened to her :( Emma's feet were warm like normal when I took her out. I also want to mention, I gave Sasha a bath about 3 weeks ago, she was not in standing water, I used the cup from my daughters baby bath and Johnson's baby wash to bathe her. I was careful not to get water in her ears. I saw somewhere online afterwards that you are not supposed to bathe them, and other places have said its ok, just not too often. Can anyone help clear this up for me? Please help

Welcome to the guinea pig forum!:)p

To clear up the bath issue, I can assure you that giving guinea pigs baths is okay. This entire forum certainly supports it, because I have seen many pictures of wet pigs! :) And the cold feet...I'm not sure, because Gilbert sometimes has cold feet too. As long as you don't notice any other symptoms that may indicate she is ill, I think she will be fine. Keep us updated on her! And could we get pics!?x)

My boy Jasper always has cold feet, he seems fine though. I think it's normal for some pigs, like people. My feet always feel cold.

Thank you for the responses, I feel rather silly now :red but also relieved, both piggies are doing great :) They were running around in my daughters room yesterday, and I saw Emma "popcorning" for the first time! It was so cute :) They do have very different temperments though. Emma is always full of energy and ready to explore, whereas Sasha is more mellow and takes her time wandering about. I don't really think she is ill though, its just her sweet personality (I hope ?/ ). I will post some pictures of them tomorrow. Off the topic, is there an easy way to access the threads that I have started or posted on? I had kind of a hard time finding this again... At first I couldn't remember exactly what I titled the post, then I searched for it in the search box and eventually found it from the list. Is this the only way to find them?

Ok, so I found the spot to subscribe for email notification. I guess I just needed to open my eyes a bit lol

You can go to User CP which is at the top left corner of the page under the forum's name. Then click "Your Profile" which is the first one on the left side with all the other options. Then click "Statistics" and lastly choose "Find posts" or "Find threads" hope you understood this! x

It's funny how piggies all have different personalities, isn't it? My three are so different from each other. Oscar is like your Emma, always running around like a loony and he has a bit of a mischevious side to him, but Elliot and George are so chilled out that if they didn't have to get out of bed to walk to their food and water, then they wouldn't! They much prefer life in the slow lane.
