Is it ok to give piggies veggies straight from the fridge as read somewhere cold food can upset their tummies

If you can warm it up a bit first, that would be better.

My piggies veggies always come straight from the fridge but I will leave it on their veg plate whilst I give them their dry food and hay etc so it warms up a little before being eaten

I usually let mine warm up a bit while I clean out the litter trays. I was told that if too cold it can upset their tummies, so I have never put it to the test.

Thank you for reminding me of this. I had heard this somewhere but obviously the information had not sunk in. Things are always a rush in our house first thing in the morning so my piggies have been getting their breakfast side salad straight from the fridge. I think I'm going to have to set my alarm clock a little earlier. I'm true piggy slave but can't risk getting to work late.

I know it's probably a really bad idea but on days where I'm in a real hurry I just rinse the veg under warmer water than usual. Usually though I get the veg out the fridge - go get myself organised then come back to chop it up, rinse it and give it to them :)

I've been thinking of doing this - might struggle for room in the fridge though! (It's a mini fridge)

I have always given my gang vegetables straight from the fridge and they have never had any tummy problems.

Lol, I find though that chopped veg in a Tupperware box takes up less room than the veg before it is chopped.

Yes, I was wondering if I just chopped it all and kept it in tupperware it would save space. Although I don't know if it would keep as well? I'm still learning about veggies as I don't eat them myself!

I've never had any problems and find it lasts.

What I tend to do is chop up half the veg I have and then the other half when the chopped up veg has been eaten :)

I must admit, I don't chop carrots or tomatoes up but they only have those a couple of times a week.
