Cold weather is here and so are the free ad piggies !

I have been looking at the local free ads for a while now and over the summer months there havent really been that many free to good home piggies or older ones being sold BUT over the past 24 hours there have been at least 4 different ads for older male piggies being sold for a pittance :'( :'( :'( Looks like people cant be bothered with the cold weather and feeding and cleaning out >:( and how can they even get new homes when there is so much competition from baby piggies being sold for 4 quid ?? I really feel for the rescues I think its gonna be a busy autumn and winter! Has anyone else noticed the numbers going up now its colder?

Are any in the North West area, if any are free or cheap I'm willing to find homes for them, they need our help. its so heartbreaking. I looked this morning but didn't see any.

In a couple of wheeks! ill be able to house rescues as a permenant home, once caviary is re-set up! x
 
No i havent to be honest ?
Ive never seen a rise in any piggys for sale or abandonments or in adoption actually i wentto pets at home the other day to see if there were any and there isnt so I'm gonna keep trying to see if there is any as i dont want them to be stuck in a pet shop whilst they get sold in the cold weather and then just get stuck in a hutch outside :'(

I have yet to see the rise go up and i hope it doesnt :'(
 
You definately see an influx, it tends to start when the kids go back to school, and steadily rises til just before xmas, when parents start enquiring about piggies for pressies. Generally starts again the week after xmas til mid feb time

It makes me so sad as the older piggies find it harder to find homes as people see the ickle babies as tiny and cute. They are all in the south west area but if you look on any free ads you will probably find some :'( :'(
 
Ahhh it is soo sad and if i had more room id take soem in but I'm buying a piggy soon :-\
