Hiya,

Well we have had our first real frost of the winter overnight and I only got my piggies on Sunday. They are outside in a shed and they have got plenty of hay etc. This morning when I went out their water bottle had frozen up so I thawed it out and have put a thick sock over it. They seem happy enough though, eating plenty, esp their veggies.

Will they be OK as they are only babies and I just worry that they may not be warm enough. I have got a snuggle safe which I will put in with them tonight. Is there anything else I can do?

you could drape an old blanket or better an old duvet over the hutch to stop any droughts if the bottle froze that shows how cold it was, so you need as much warmth in that hutch as you can possible make
 
Would you bring them inside for a couple of nights or can that be worse for them?
 
Lot's of hay, blanket over the hutch, and make sure their all snuggled up. mine go into the sleepsack

This would be absolutely worse for them to do it for only a couple of nights. Perhaps invest in a small heater if the shed has electric or think about insulating as this costs very little to buy from DIY shops like B&Q or Wickes (we're talking less than £6 for massive sheets). I honestly don't think it's realistic to expect warm-blooded animals to be comfortable in temperatures below zero.
 
We've had a couple of severe frosts this winter. All my pigs are in the shed and they are all fine. My water bottles have never frozen. Piggies can cope with cold temperatures, its draughts and damp that they can't cope with. Even if the temps drop below zero the pigs will be fine so long as its not draughty and their cages and bedding are dry at all times.

OK will try them with a snuggle safe and a blanket over them tonight. If they seem ok i'll leave it like that, however if i'm not happy tomorrow I'll think about bringing them in for a month or two - would this be ok?

all my 4 are out side my oldest 2 are use to it now as i have had the a year i jsut shove them a lod of hay in up to the roof and there sor it out and make little beds and go right under it and i f=bring them inside there allways warm but my ltitle babies whre only 17 weeks i jsut keep adding more hay in as ater days there felting all the hay and cant get under it and i i have laods of all old blankets and stuff over there cage aswell which was forzen this moring
 
I have two piggies in our shed at the moment. I have a heater in there set low so it will not go below freezing point its set at 10c but is dropping below that. Inside the hutch is stacked up with hay and when I put my hand in it feels a lot warmer than the shed itself. I have put a blanket over them too.
Try not to worry to much about them they will cuddle each other too.
 
I'd put the snugglesafe in tonight and put a blanket over the top and sides of the hutch. I've also pointed their hidey hole away from the door so there's no chance of drafts in their pigloo. Also make sure their bedding's dry even if it means cleaning them out daily whilst this nasty weather's about.
