Coloured wood chews -safe?

I came across some guinea pig chew toys on eBay and am wondering if these are safe for them or not due to the colour dye that must be used? The description says non toxic, but are they safe? If you search guinea pig chews toys you should come across them. Tx

Typically they are coloured using non-toxic vegetable dyes so they should be safe, I don't know which you are talking about though so can't comment on them specifically. If it's on eBay you can always contact the seller and ask about it but I find it unlikely that people would be selling such things if they were really harmful. I should also point out that some people don't use coloured chew toys at all because it adds that extra potential risk factor and isn't really necessary. I tend to just give mine willow branches though I have got one coloured ball type wooden chew toy and it's not caused any problems.
