ive read/heard that coltsfoot is really bad and cause cancer etc and i was going to buy some forage the other day but realized it had coltsfoot in however does anyone know for sure if coltsfoot if bad because i know the forage i was going to buy is quite popular? (cant remember the name of the forage, when i do ill post in on here, i think it was by the naturals range?)

where did you read/hear that? i've never heard that before. i know it's good for respiratory issues. :)

It was on a website i do believe it was agesssss ago and ever since ive just avoided it. Oooo okay :) hmmm interesting :) x

i've always fed it occasionally to rabbits and piggies and they've been ok. guess it's like everything else, could cause this that and the other. everything in moderation and should be ok.

willow is another example. people worry about the tannins in that. but they'd have to eat alot of it everyday over a very long period of time to cause any damage i'd imagine. :)

Ah yess thats a good point :) Okaay. Thankyou so its 100% okay to buy this forage so long as like you said its only in moderation :) Ohh yeah, goof example! Thanks a million xD Thats brilliant to know :D

is it this one? https://www.thehayexperts.co.uk/coltsfoot.html this is the one i get. like i say, in moderation i'm sure it's fine. i'll keep buying it anyway. hopefully others will be along soon to give more advice :) x

umm noo, the one i saw in the shop was like a big mix of different bits and bobs :) Hehe okay, ill be sure to try it out with the guinea pigs. thankyou for your help :D

I buy Coltsfoot whenever I see it. It smells great and my piggies love it. Usually it is in things like Burgess Meadow Mix but not in significant quantities. I guess like Dandelion, you should feed in moderation.

I tend to buy different bags of those bags of Meadow Mix/Coltsfoot/Dandelion etc and mix them in a container together then give it to my piggies as a treat most days. About 240g of these lasts about 2 wks.

Ooo okay. Its great to know its okay to feed :) I will be buying mixes from now on that contain coltsfoot instead of avoiding them :) thankss

I hate you! I have just had a look at this site and am just buying everything lol I have ordered over £50 and I have had to take some out as I didn't want to spend this much..I love buying my piggies those treats and herb things so this site is like an Aladdin's Cave :yikes:

...Actually on second thoughts, they don't give free P&P no matter how much you spend and it's not really as cheap as some other sites (but they do have a better range)..I'm gonna just order from Zooplus instead and save a few bob.
