I would try them with them first, my two were totally unimpressed. It's just as easy (if not more so) and cheaper to leave a sufficient supply of hay and pellets. It's also important to make sure they have multiple water bottles so they don't run out or in case one should go wrong.

My piggy peanut loves ripping them apart he also loves his meadow hay but not to keen on Timothy hay it seems would meadow hay still help to keep his teeth nice and trim?
