We adopeted Cameo (Hamster) when Popcorn Paradise shut down. She was 17 months old when we adopted her and she lived with us for 3 months.

She was recently diagnosed with a Pyometra (uterine infection) and I spent the whole day yesterday deliberating over whether to put her through an op to spay her as this would have been the only cure.

At 10 o'clock last night we got her out to give her her meds and we knew it was time for her to make her journey to the bridge, so rushed her to the emergency vets.

She was a lovely hamster, we were warned that she was bitey due to previous illness but we saw no sign of this. She was so gentle and loved coming out for cuddles. She lived in her Hamster Heaven which she adored and a few weeks ago she moved her bed to form a pit downstairs under her wheel so she could see what was going on better. She wanted to keep this clean though so still did her toilet business and kept her food upstairs in her penthouse :))

Sleep tight beautiful girl, it may have only been three months but we loved you as soon as we knew that you and Kira were coming to live with us.

Sorry to hear this Helen :( she looks like a wonderful little hammy and sounds like she had a brilliant time in the three months with you. I love the pic of her sneeking her head through into her den of stashed food! Sleep well little Cameo x

Sorry you lost that special little girl so soon - but she had a great time with you and has left you with precious memories!

Thank you everyone. 4piggiepigs, I suppose we were warned when we adopted them that they were older but it doesn't make it any easier does it :(
 
My kitty had pyometra, but she got surgery... now she's weallly fat.
I'm realllly sorrry about your hammmy, Cameo. <3
 
So sorry to hear this. Have fun in that giant wheel at the bridge sweet cameo.
