Completely Heartbroken

Sadly this morning when I went to spot clean the cage I found that my sweet new girl Crimson had passed in the night. I took her to my vet but she is kind of at a loss as to what happened. She showed no signs of being ill and she was eating and drinking and playing last night when I went to bed. The vet doesn't think it was anything contagious but I will be keeping an extra close eye on Willow and Clover. I'll also be doing a complete cleaning and disinfecting of the cage and all houses and toys. Has anyone had anything like this happen all of a sudden with no warning?

I'm so sorry for your loss. Piggies are so good at hiding illness that you don't know anything is wrong a lot of the time.mmy fuzzums was fine one night then funny the next morning and died late afternoon. It's very sad and unfair but sadly it happens. My fuzzums had pneumonia.

It was like that she was perfect last night when I went to bed and gone this morning. My vet checked for pneumonia though and said that wasn't the cause.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It's heartbreaking. Clover and Willow are taking it pretty hard. I just need to do the best I can for them in the coming days.
