Complex respiratory infection: the hardest decision...

I am so sorry that you had to make such a heartbreaking decision. It was the right thing to do and was done with your heart full of love.
RIP little one.💕🌈🐾

Oh just seen this!
I am so sorry that you have lost Sparkle, this is so very sad!
Thinking of you at this awful time, try remember all the wonderful times you all had
Sleep tight little Sparkle x

I am so sorry for your loss, Sparkle RIP no longer in pain and chookens over the bridge. Hope you are doing ok under the circumstances yourself.
Your situation sound similar to ours..we thought piggy was doing a u turn, popcorning, eating..but the vet telling us like it was.. URI...still is hearbreaking now, but still only a few months ago..

Sending you lots of internet hugs xx

How are you people here so very lovely? Thank you @YvonneBlue @Bill & Ted @leafylou and @Betsy
I've not even been signed up for a fortnight and yet I've had so many compassionate and thoughtful comments!

Although I imagine Sparkle's last days must have been difficult for him, I get the sense he still had quite a few happy today periods of time. He gave the very best snuggles where I think (certainly hope at least) he was content or at least felt some sense of companionship (from his "grooming" and general apparently relaxed posture).

Yes I think the ill piggies do seem to have been the more confident and dominant to start off with, then they rely on you and recognise the effort we put in to secure food, shelter and comfort, and totally put us in trust..it's quite the surrender, which is a bit sad, but good for us humans and the ill piggy..it's hearbreaking x

As you say, it is absolutely heart-breaking and quite something to experience 💔

We all love piggies here and we all feel your pain when a furry friend wanders off to the Rainbow Bridge as nature intended or with love from Hooman Slave. We have all been there or if we haven't we can imagine the hole that our furry potatoes leave in our hearts. My Christian has had me in this place a couple of times. In May of 2018 I almost lost him to a mahoosive abscess but the vet I trusted him to managed to remove it. Don't know what to do about Christian....., And about a year later he somehow damaged his back Christian was at emergency vet appointment this morning!
