Hi all! My one year old guinea pig (kev) has a bald patch on his back and it is very sensitive to touch. I assumed it was mites as when we first got him he had these and it cleared up nicely. However the vet doesn't think it is mites and I had trouble actually getting him to say what it was. Kev also has a mouth sore which is being treated with anti bio. The vet give us a gel to place on his back twice a day for five days. As any body experienced this before. I think it might be a fungal infection but not sure having read about them also.

I would drop Chrissy an email at gorgeous guineas and send her a picture of it. She sells some fantastic products that work very well :)
www.gorgeousguineas.com if anyone can help it would be her :)

I think Pumpkinpiggie is right, chrissy is great I have emailed her in the past and she is quick with a response!

Just want to add its half term and sometimes Chrissy takes a break to be with her children ;) but she will always reply to urgent emails just a little slower as she might not be around in daylight hours.

Was just looking at lotions on her site there now and wasn't sure what to get as i put some healing cream on kev when i first seen it and he went mental, running around and trying to get the stuff off him. Felt very guilty but i had used the same stuff on him before as the vet had told me but this time he is very sensitive to everything

Dont just buy blindly email her and explain whats happening and also enclose a photo for her to see :)

You need oral cream and a Melt and shampoo and maybe lotion, but email Chrissie and ask her advice, as PP said pigtures are always good. If your guinea is on woodshavings please take him off, they will not help the condition.

CocoNeem Melt and Manuka and Neem shampoo is the one I use but get it seen by Chrissie first so you get the right product :) This is Gorgeous Guineas not Johnsons ;)
