A couple of times a week I find the odd calcium pee (just little spots here and there) in the piggies cage. The last two nights I have noticed a fee of the older spots have dried a bit hard. Is that normal on fleece or is that a indication something is wrong? It used to be easy to tell when I had their food bowls on newspaper but now I have the bowls on fleece pee pads i'm finding it harder to decipher powdery from gritty? There were a couple of fresh spots that didn't feel gritty but I guess that means nothing because I don't know which of the pigs do which pee because they change their hidey's so frequently. I hope i'm just being a worry wart, that's my default setting lol.

If you're worried you could always try to reduce their calcium content a bit.

But, my vet always says 'better out than in' so it's a good sign that it's on the fleece in a way.

If it's not gritty then it's okay.

I have noticed that when my boar had bladder stone issues the calcium deposits would appear more often on a certain fleece. It wasn't a new fleece and had been washed dozens of times, so I wonder if there is a difference between fleeces slightly.

Hi my red fleece is dotted with white calcium blotches that won't wash off. It's never gritty or sits on the fleece and he doesn't show pain when does it. He had a health check and nothing was found so I think it's OK.

These are king of new fleece which is why i thought maybe it might just be the fleece. I'm just concerned that it's abit rough to touch, like it's dried hard. It would always feel powdery on the news paper. It's not a huge amount of deposits just a few spot's here and there. The pads are getting a wash today anyway so i'll keep a eye on things. I've cut back on the celery which I only recently found out is high in calcium and they were getting a couple of chucks a day each so hopefully that might help.
