My guinea pig used to make squeals all the time when she smelled food coming or recognized voices. She would get really excited for my dad but now she doesn’t make any noises at all. She still gets excited when I give her hay, she’ll run around in circles but she hasn’t made a noise in weeks. Is she ok? Could she be depressed or lonely since I only have her? Do I need to take her out of her cage more?

Is she still active, eating and pooing. Have you ever thought about getting her a friend! How old is she and what is her name?

She still runs around and she doesn’t eat lettuce and bell pepper like she used to. She became really picky . We’ve talked about getting her a friend but never got around to it. I got her through my school and they didn’t give me any information about her. I’ve had her for almost a year. Her name is Nelly!

I’m sure she’d love company! My pigs are usually chattering away to each other so they’re rarely silent! Pigs are much better with other piggy friends so lone pigs are generally quieter and potentially more depressed. Have you got any rescues near you?
