Hi I have a concern for george we are booking him a vet slot asap but seems to be making a strange noise while breathing and I believe I can see his body moving a bit more than normal while he is breathing

Doesn't seem to have a full appetite either ATM leaving most of his veg and been in his house all day

Hi!

Please step in with support feeding fibre (hay makes around 75-80% of the daily food intake while veg is only about 15-20% and pellets should be only 5%). You can mush pellets in warm water and then feed that in an emergency if you haven't got any recovery formula powder at home.

Our emergency care guide contains all the detailed information and life-saving practical how-to care tips to keep your piggy going as much as possible until they can see a vet and until they are well on their recovery to no longer need any extra support.
Please bookmark the links and take the time to read them. You will find them very helpful. We have included a chapter on how you can improvise in a pinch until you can get hold of the necessary stuff.

Your home support care, especially hay fibe feeding care, can make all the difference. The need to breathe comes before the need to drink and only thirdly the need to eat, which is why respiratory illnesses often come with major loss of appetite; pain is also a great appetite dampener.

Hope you can get a vet appt for poor George very soon, sending healing vibes x

Earliest I can get him in is 16:30 today but I fear it could be too late I've woke up today and be really seems to be struggling with whatever is wrong with him surely it isn't a natural passing if he seems to be struggling
Can't see no crusty eyes or nose issues but definitely a strange noise while breathing

Also really lethargic today and not running from me at all

I'm petrified taking him to vets Incase they tell me the worse news we don't want to hear just no idea what's wrong with him

So George has just passed on over the rainbow bridge in my arms, absolutely heartbroken and devastated, I could just tell today he wasn't going to make it

Like to think we gave him the best life possible and he had already battled so many things and had surgery a while ago to remove a lump, little warrior with a unique personality

Rest in peace my little baby go play with your brother charlie 💙

Oh I’m so sorry you lost little George, sending you hugs, he’ll be reunited with Charlie x
