Confessions

I frequently talk to the piggies. I say good morning when I go downstairs. I bid them goodnight each day (just realised I forgot today, I was hungry!). Each time I’m waking pas to the kitchen, I will say hello and comment on what they’re doing. The kids also talk to them a lot and comment when Toffee sleeps with his eyes closed. The youngest sometimes tells the other daughter off if one of the boys is sleeping and she goes to stroke him 🤣

It probably does sound odd as my kids are past the stage where I would talk to them like I do the piggies 🤷🏾‍♀️

Both my partner and I have conversations with the piggies all the time and he's always telling me what they think. Apparently I'm far too slow with the food and don't feed them enough! We always say good bye when we leave the house and tell them to be nice to one another, we also say hello when we come in. When I open the front door which opens directly into the room the piggies are in I always call out it's only me.

Always talking to the guinea pigs, Even when we’re out I say to my partner.. “I wonder what the pigs are doing right now?” I’m obsessed with them.
I’m always just staring and watching them :))
And when it’s their pellet time, I always say “Do you want BISCUIIITS?.. do you reallllllyy want BISCUITS..“ and they get all excited and say “wheeeek wheeek yes please”.
And Salad/dinner time it’s always.. “WEE WEE SEE SEE TIME” I have no idea why the ‘see see’ but it stuck and now I say it all the time when feeding them.
I love them so much.

"What's this?" in my 'piggy voice' means some sort of treat it's always after breakfast pellets and involves some sort of fruity treat usually a strawberry top, blueberry or a bit of banana skin. Meg is always first, followed by Christian. Then its the other two. Betsy normally gets there first and then Dennis who says "don't forget me where's my treat Mum?" Betsy has been known in her enthusiasm for something tasty to bite my finger by mistake. She does let go pretty quickly, looks at me (don't know why though she is as blind as a bat!) with a look that says "did she notice? no good! and then takes the tasty morsel.

I found my husband the other day calling the girls because he'd got them some dandelion leaves, he was never interested when my daughter first got them but every so often I find him looking into their home asking if anyone has given them dandelions today? 😂 He then comments on who is eating them the quickest and telling them to share!

My husband was the same with both pairs. He used to feed the boys extra behind my back if they came begging near the fridge 🙄 If he’s weeding he will tell me to give them the remnants, and also tells me to give them carrots or veg peel 🤣 but he is biased towards the boys!

I forgot to say like Piggieminder, I say bye and see you later when I’m going out. And say it’s me if I walk into the dining. And I say ‘muddo’ (word for hay/grass in native language) when I’m topping them up. That usually induces rumbling (Even underpig Fudge!) and popcorning in the boys. And Chanel will occasionally have a little zoom 😍

I've started calling pellets sweeties. I hand feed them pellets throughout the day and I always call out "who wants sweeties?" to get their attention.

Love this thread! I‘m constantly talking to our piggies. I tell them what I‘m doing, ask them what they‘re doing, tell them how much longer they‘ll have to wait for their veggies and I tend to apologise profusely for any loud noise, whether I‘ve caused it or not 😂

My OH, who is ‚not a pet person‘, as he likes to point out, picked up Pewter yesterday, showed her two different wall paints and asked her which one she likes better because he can’t decide.. she answered by staring at him for a minute and then ate a poo 😂😂

What a classy little pig your are Pewter 🤣

She is a real lady 😂
So Pewter you have managed to worm your way into Daddy's heart then? Maybe Daddy is a "Piggy" person after all!

Oh she has him wrapped around her little paws! It turns out he absolutely adores all of them, and they all adore him. Here are the boys having a little cuddle on Daddy‘s chest last night - so much for ‚not a pet person‘ 😂🥰

Haha we haven’t had any hairdressing yet but Benito likes to crawl all the way under his chin, hide under the beard and poke his nose out :))

I’m impressed - bilingual piggies :D

Funnily enough they understand because I’ve always spoken to them in our language! So I think theyve got more brains than they’re credited for. Having said that, I’m starting to question whether Fudge is a few pennies short of a pound. I scatter feed pellets yet no matter how many times he hears the bag, he still stands there waiting to be handfed. So spoilt! Actually Chanel likes to eat them out my hand and so likes to be handfed them. Rod, back 🙄

now imagine this going on X 32, saying good morning by name asking each one how they are?asking Coral if Cloud as picked on her again, asking Mullberry whom as cut her hair. Silverberry if her dry patch of skin is feeling better after having her cream treatment, the list gos on,and on, no piggies get left out, then its treat time, again no piggie gets left out, and being offered them in the order off higher rank to the lowest rank, they know not to get too pushy,

I do this too! I say you can have your dinner veggies ar 4 that's an hour from now.
Funny thing- it works. He will give me a snubbed look, then flop down for a nap.

Well I‘m glad it‘s not just me who does this :)) it works with mine too, as soon as I say ‚You‘re an hour early!‘ the wheeking immediately stops.
