I have just bought two baby guinea pigs for my daughter on Tuesday. Had to check the gender myself as the previous owner didn't know, so I used a website for guidence.

Looks to me that its one boy and one girl, but would like confirmation from a more experiance owner please.

you need a clearer picture. Looks like a girl though. not certain though!

Thats what I thought, was hoping someone was going to tell me different, ah well rolleyes

Thanks

I agree looks like top female, botton male.

On the bottom one, you would be able to feel his penis tucked up inside. If you run your finger up his tummy from his bottom upwards, you should be able to feel a bump...that will be his penis.

I'd go with girl at the top, boy at the bottom - have they been separated?

Don't know if you can view my other threads, but they are six weeks old and have been living with each other since birth. Got a bit of a surprise this morning when other forum members told me she could already be pregnant :(

Oh no! I think you should separate them now. Sad though as they will both need company. How about going to the vets to see if she is pregnant?

Well I'm taking her to the vet next Thursday anyway, as she has an extra toe which is hanging on by a thread, which I think may need romoved
:( so i'll ask then.

Not having the best start are we :{

Feel terrible having to split them, as I got two so they would have company :(

Yes definitely girl top, boy bottom. Oh dear :( If you can't put one in another cage yet, try to rig up a partition in your existing hutch/cage tonight, use a baking cooling rack or something similar, but block off the sides so that they can't get stuck! That way they can look but not touch! :)

I'm not put of :), just a tad stressed haha

aww dont stress, its just one of them things, it has happened a million times before, its certainly not your fault.

You can separate but still have them close so they can see and touch and smell, just through prison bars :))

Yeah, little piggies don't hang about! rolleyes Get acquainted with the pregnancy section, you'll find lots of advice and support there!
