I'm a bit confused about Ginnys behaviour today. She had her ovaries removed just over 2 weeks ago and has been a lot calmer since. Today however she is back to rumble strutting, chasing and mounting Luna. I thought that without her ovaries she wouldn't have the urge to do this anymore? I know castration doesn't change male dominance behaviour, but is that the same in females? Poor Luna has had a couple of months of constant chasing and mounting and I thought it was all over now!

Dominance behaviour is dominance behaviour and doesn't change whether a piggy can reproduce or not. Ginny is obviously feeling back on board and is reasserting her dominance again.

One of my biggest rumble-strutting and mounting sows was my Hafren, who I adopted already spayed.

Ah OK I didn't realise. I think Luna might be in season (it's hard to tell with her), she has had a few little lunges at Ginny so I guess this has prompted Ginny to let her know she's still in charge :xd:.Thanks
