I have two boars, Guibbers and Ping Pong. Guibbers being older by about half a year at 2 years old. They aren't related but when they were introduced neither of them had any problems and have gotten along pretty well for the majority of this year (I got Ping Pong in Spring of this year when he was about 3-4 months old).
Ping Pong seems to be an abyssinian of some kind.
Guibbers is a smooth hair.
Ping Pong despite being younger seems to try and trys to assert dominance onto guibbers. However instead of showing agression back Guibbers tends to do some kind of squeak.
What does this squeak mean? They seem to behave completely normal after so I don't split them up. (eg eating from the same bowl, nose to nose and purring at each other)
I hope I'm not maltreating them by not splitting them up.

If they are just humping eachother, the squeak that you are talking about might be the piggy just trying to tell the other one to leave him alone. Just keep an eye on them and if blood is drawn by fighting, definitely separate them permanently😣

Guibbers never ever fights back. He just goes back into his house and eventually Ping Pong goes for a nap. In fact Ping Pong never seems to fight, he only seems to want mount him. Though if he manages I usually pet Guibbers incase he is more stressed than he seems. Then again this doesn't happen often.

The squeak will be in submission. This is a good thing. He is accepting that ping pong is in charge.
Mounting is perfectly normal and to be expected. You don’t need to do anything when this happens.
The only time you need to separate boars is if there is a full on blood drawing fight.

Loud squeaking is submission. It translates as 'Do not be mean to me!' and is the correct response to any dominance behaviour from the other piggy if the piggy cannot hold against.

Please take the time to read these guides here. Make sure that you only have hideys with two exits (at least one per boar) and everything in twos. Check whether Guibbers is feeling bullied.

So then it just seems like normal dominance problems, the noise might mean that the piggie is accepting that the other is in charge, but I wouldn’t worry much about this as long as there is no blood👍🏽

The squeal is submission- the under-pig is telling the dominant pig that they accept that they are the boss. It's very normal. The size/age of the pig doesn't determine which is the boss... it's very much a personality thing and not down to age or size. Some pigs are very domineering and very much want to be kind or queen of the hill, other pigs are born followers.

I know when Dobby is being a bully when Gonzo squeaks like that. Our Skinnies.
