I'm confused about about what noises my pigs make mean? they rumble alot but I thought rumbling was happiness until I reasearched noises and found out that it means aggression but when they make the noise they make no sign of aggression :{ can anyone explain?

Rumbling can mean a few things, apprantly if it's long and drawn out it can mean their purring, espcially if you're stroking them, a short rumble is shock (epscially if theirs a loud noise), and if they sway their backside whilst doing it, it's a sign of domanance or the mating dance which they'll do to the same sex as well as oppisite sex.

Aggression is teeth chatting, yawning widely (with head in the air) and so on. Someone will properly post you a link of noises. <3

Rumbling is a non-aggressive dominance behaviour. It is usually accompanied by bum wiggling. As guinea pig society work on the basis of a strict hierarchy, you will get rumblestrutting in both genders as a means to establish and reinforce the dominance.

A short, hard rumble means "I don't like that".

A softer, long rumbling purr when cuddled means pleasure.

Most sounds can have different meanings and you will have to look out for the body language as well; interpreting your guinea pig is a matter of experience - the more you see them, the more you'll learn.

One of my girls Paislee squeaks when I am stroking her, but when I stop she stops. Does she not like me touching her? She is probably the least confident of my piggies, is she scared of me?
