So, everywhere I look, it says "you can feed x veggie x times weekly" etc. etc., but some people seem to feed mostly the same thing every day, and even if they mix it up a bit they still feed more than is "recommended" (not criticising, just confused). Their piggies might get the same veggies pretty much every day for a week's straight when they are veggies that you can supposedly only feed up to 4 times weekly? And even if they change the veggies around, one of them might be the same for ages. I'm so paranoid about feeding them too much of one thing, I probably don't give them enough veggies. I feel like a terrible piggy mummy. :(

I have loads of different piggy veggies in the fridge, but I stick to the recommended intake (e.g. I only really feed celery/cucumber every other day) and I don't think I'm actually giving them enough. Usually I give them 3-4 different types of veggie, I'm just worried I'm going to feed them too much of one thing and give them diarrhea.

Also some piggy owners feed celery/cucumber every day, when I have heard you shouldn't because it will upset their stomach. They also feed celery and cucumber at the same time, but apparently too much watery veg causes diarrhea. And their piggies are absolutely fine. Argh so much mixed information, what do I do?!

If anyone can offer advice I would appreciate it greatly!

Thanks, I did already read that thread and I know how much of their diet should consist of veggies, I'm just paranoid about feeding them too much of the same thing. Too much watery veg, too much calcium, etc.

My boys get cucumber and celery every day, they don't tend to drink much water so the watery veg is there to compensate. Equally I can tell when they've maybe gone overboard with calcium high veg cos it shows up in their wee so I cut that back (although that's not happened for a while as we have a fairly balanced diet now). I think it is a little dependent on the piggies, the guidelines are just that, guidance, rather than rules. You need to go with what works for your piggies, just be careful with introducing new veg and be vigilant as to how it might affect them.

Thanks! I always make sure to introduce new veg gradually, and if my piggies have had grass or fresh forages I do feed a little less veg. Today my piggies had cucumber, yellow pepper, sweet gem lettuce, and cauliflower leaves. They were very pleased. :D
