Ok so far my little pigs adore parsley spinach celery coriander cucumber

like broccoli pepper Apple spring greens carrot

Will eat cauliflower blueberries

Were not impressed by raspberries courgettes or peas.

I'm obviously trying to give them high vit c veg but I'm seeing conflicting info about what I can give them everyday for example parsley one site says it's ok every day others 2 to 3 times a week.

I'm limiting carrot and fruit but I'm worried about giving them too much of certain things. I've been using the list of safe foods from this site to try them on but is there a list of veg it's ok to give them every day?

Thank you

I give mine carrot peelings every day (not a lot of carrot on a peeling). I also give a mixture of the following depending on what I have in the fridge: broccoli stalk, cucumber, bell pepper, peeled courgette (they don't eat it otherwise!), sprout leaves, cauliflower leaves (hard core removed), lettuce (not iceberg), aubergine (egg plant - Meg's absolute fave veg!), Blueberries (treat) melon rind (guinea pig crack - treat) kale, spinach and parsley (occasionally as lots of calcium) and coriander (cilantro) always is popular.

Hope this helps!

I'm afraid you'll always see differences of opinion about what veg can be given . The problem with parsley is that it's quite high in calcium - which is why many sites advise limiting the amount you give .

My " go to " sites are ...... here and GuineaLynx,

there is a list of daily veg on this thread plus a picture of recommended portion size ...

Conflicting advice is a pain when you’re trying to do the best for your piggies.
This is the best site I came across for sensible guidance. I’ve never used GuineaLynx but if @PiggyOwner recommends it then it’s worth looking at. Use your own common sense too.

We feed ours this roughly

Morning:
Cucumber -1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Celery - 1 stick between 3 chopped up small
1/6th of Red/Green/Yellow Bell Pepper (de-seeded)

Evening:
Cucumber 1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Two Little Gem Lettuce leaves or 10 sprigs Coriander. Twice a week we will swap in cabbage or parsley

We also add in to the above diet carrot, sweet potato, celery leaves and a few other things occasionally

But by no means am I any expert on food here, some folks on the forum are really clued up... so pick up advise where you can.

The piggy are not going to be happy about the parsley lol it's like catnip to them lol
I know our first two piggies were addicts :)) once/twice a week for parsley - try coriander it is normally equally loved but less calcium

that is true they do seem to really like coriander too who knows why vile stuff. The parsley is so bad if they have that they have to have it last cos they won't eat anything else if they can smell parsley.

Have to hand feed their veg otherwise Ozzie is a stealing little hog although j-roc does seem to be fighting back they had a very impressive tug of war yesterday over a sprig of parsley.
