so i have 2 males at the moment ,they live in the same cage n get on fine. my friend broyght her female round to meet them n neither of the males acted sexual they hardly even looked at her apart from when she stoll theor treats, I'm just confused why

hi, personaly l think the poor old boar gets a bad press:no:
l have pairs of boys that ar'nt that inerested in sow , and only pay any attention if the sows start to anoy them :gp:

Please don't put a girl near them again, it could cause fights between the boys and break their bond.It only takes a short time for a boy to make a girl pregnant.

its okay i know what I'm doing iv had a lot of pigs before and no I'm not trolling i was just curious about their behaviour seen as iv never seen two males completely ignore a female

and btw we introduced the males separately to the female so there would not be fights

well @toby, as @madguinealady said, putting the female in with the two males was reckless on your part. that's not recommended "just to see what happens".

we were next to them its not like they could have pups seen as the female has been done

and it was not to see what happens it was to intruduce the new males into the herd slowly, me n my friend have many pig's n we like to have play dates persay

I'm sure someone who's experience carries more clout than mine will be along soon...

i haven't done anything wrong? i just asked a question about the behaviour

I think the only reason people are finding your question a bit odd is that it seems like a risky thing to do. In general two males with one or more females is sooner or later going to result in fighting. Piggie naturally live in herds headed by one male and his group of females and pups.

Just because your boys don't show any interest doesn't make them odd, just happy in their own company which is fine.

I wouldn't suggest repeating the experiment though because it is very likely you could destroy the friendship of the two boars by challenging their bond and end up with two single, unhappy piggies which isn't great for anyone. It's not just as simple as making sure they are not able to have babies although that is also very important!
