I'm not quite sure where to post this but one of my sows is constantly eating alot more than the others and she is always licking my hand where as none of the others do? D
Does anyone have any idea what this could be or is she just greedy! ;D

by licking my hand is she just being friendly or is she looking for something ? ?

2 of my sows now passed away used to lick my hands.. they were never under fed so i asume they can either taste the salt in your skin or like licking lol

if shes eating more then maybe shes just a growing girly and needs her food, how much do you give her on a daily basis?

well its 4 guinea pigs in the one cage i fill one bowl with dry food and another one with fruit and veg i give them fresh food in the morning and again in the evening and make sure they have plenty of hay couldit possibly be she is pregnant and in the cage with her is another 1 sow and 2 boars ?

its possible if you havent sexed them yeah!

you need to look now at what they are and if you have got boars in seperate them, if your stuck get pics of them and i can help sex them for you :)

they have already been sexed i want to keep them together i want them 2 breed its 2 sows and 2 boars i have i was just wondering why she was acting like that what are the early stage symptoms of pregnancy?

You want them to breed :o :o WHY? You obviously have never bred before if you dont know if she is preggers or not! This froum is against breeding so I would find a forum that could help you out on that subject :)

If you are keeping 2 sows and 2 boars together in the same cage you are VERY lucky that they havent been fighting.

I know this forum is against breeding but I have done breeding myself in the past (please note I dont do it now) If you would like further assistance on breeding then you are welcome to contact me on [email protected]

Breeding guinea pigs or any animal is not something to be done lightly. There are alot of factors to consider.

If you want help and advice please email me.

i wasnt asking how to breed them dazie i asked how do i no if one is pregnant and i have dealt with a pregnant guinea pig before but as i have said before i was only little so my mum done most of the work

Breeding is the process of putting males and females together to make babies. If you are asking about the signs of pregnancy then you are indeed asking for breeding advice.

My advice? Don't breed.

I agree with vicky here.

You are lucky the males have not been fighting.

Males who can smell or are around sows will attack other Boars., the problem is now you may not be able to keep both boars together.

you need to take your boars out incase the dirty deed has been done, for the welfare of the boars.

Please email Vicky for more info re breeding, I would seperate the boars from the sows for now until you have been given advice.
