Watership Down

My girls now allow me to pick them up and they will sit on my lap for such a long time without trying to run away. sometimes maya makes kind of vibrations that shake her body and makes noises. on you tube i saw some videos and some people were saying that was an angry noise telling you it hurts. If it was would they not try and run or move away from me. Is there any advice on how to stroke them.

Out of my four piggies, I only have 1 that sometimes makes the noise you are discribing. When he does, its his way of telling me he doesn't like how I am stroking him.

And when he does, I just stroke him in a different place or in a different way, he doesn't try to run away from me. Its like hes saying " not like that, do it like this!":)). They definately know what they want and what they don't!

Stroppy piggies:(|)

It might be they are 'purring' like a cat does its a sign of pleasure and contentment some of my sows do this. I'm sure if they didn't like what you were doing they would soon let you know. Some pigs don't like being stroked on their heads and they will throw their heads up to tell you to stop and you should also avoid their lower back.

lol they are so adorable! awh I love them so much. They are very vocal in letting you know things. thanks you guys

One of my girls purrs when I'm stroking her - it's so nice to hear, lets you know that she's enjoying what your doing. Daisy only does it very occasionally.
