Flower has taken to humping Vinnie's head. Tonight he's been relentless and I've seen them jump at each other like a fight is breking out. I don't think anything has changed for this to happen. Am quite worried as I'm not with them all the time and I'm worried about Vinnie getting hurt or really pissed off. He doesn't seem to care that much at the moment but I think Flower may be biting his back to hold him down? It's quite disturbing. Any advice please! Xx

The humping probably means they are trying to dominate each other. How long have they been together?

They are brothers and are currently 17 weeks. Of course that's the time it really kicks off isn't it? I think maybe I was naive to think it wouldn't happen. It looks horrible though. I'm going away for two nights soon (have friend checking on them) but I'm worried they will
Hurt each other now! Xx

If I were you I'd get them neutered before they start properly fighting otherwise they might need to be separated! My 2 males used to live happily together when only one was neutered.

Neutering will not change their behavior at all - it simply prevents them making babies, which is not an issue for 2 males!
It does not make any difference, and if they are destined to be friends (or fall out) neutering won't change this.

Your boys are entering the hormonal teen months, and a bit of lively 'discussion' about who is boss is likely to occur.

These threads are really helpful in deciding what is happening and how to handle it.

Doesn't neutering stop boars being dominant? It defiantly did with my 2 boars.

Thanks guys. Should I be worried about them hurting each other? Xx

The thing I can't understand is they were doing this maybe once a day before. Tonight it has literally been constant. Poor Vinnie can't move without being jumped and he is starting to fight back now.

If they start actually wounding each other I think you should separate them.

Thanks, my royal herd, I will do. I find it all very stressful. They're fine this morning and apparently were overnight when my husband got in. I really hope it doesn't start again like that.

Our 3 sows often have humping sessions, I expect when they are on heat. Our dominant sow will go berserk when she is in humping mode, very noisy and doesn't leave the others alone...it goes on for a day or so. I wouldn't worry unless they start fighting.

Bathing mine really helped! But they're quite a bit older than yours. Some times you just have to wait it out and see what happens, don't seperate too soon. Mine go and off each other with the occasional fight, but they're fine 90% of the time.
