Zippy our four year old boar has not been well for 7 days now and one thing we have noticed is that his poo's are all piling up on the edge of his bum. In other words they are there but not coming out other than the odd one. Is this because he isnt moving about much due to his illness or is there another possible cause? At the moment we have been removing the poo's after syringe feeding him, they are fairly well formed but just not coming out of their own accord. Can anyone shed any light on this?

It could be impaction which is when the soft cecal pellets can't be expelled due to a slackening of the anal muscles.
I have boars who do suffer & they can pass normal pellets past the impacted lump which i remove; joy! :))

If his poops are all formed i do wonder if it is due to him not moving round much which may make the bowel movement sluggish ?/
