I've just been to the doctors and told I have plurisy...

Now I know plurisy itself isn't contagious, but if it's caused by a bacterial or viral infection then could that be something the pigs could catch? I know they can't get the common cold but wasn't sure about this? I'm probably being stupid but Beans is old and Toast seems to have every illness under the sun so I'm just being (overly) cautious..? :hmm:

Aww no, how on earth did you get that. You need someone a bit more knowledgeable than me to answer your question. You take care of yourselve.

I have absolutely no idea?

I was going to phone the vets and ask about the pigs catching it but I didn't want to seem stupid :lose:

I need to clean them but I'm worried about picking them up

Pleurisy is an inflammation of the covering of the lungs, usually caused by an infection.

I have never heard of it being contagious for guinea pigs (it shouldn't as it is not sitting in the lungs themselves), but as always use common sense and good hygiene when you are not well.
