I know guinea pigs are not supposed to have iceberg lettuce and there are other types they CAN have but I have not seen anywhere that says that continental lettuce is OK?

I bought some in Tesco with the intention of feeding it to my piggy but thought I better check first. Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance

These are the ones they can have:)

Round lettuce
Endive
romaine/cos
Chard
Looseleaf lettuce
lollo rosso
lambs lettuce
spinach very occasionally(high in calcium and oxolates)

Is there another name for continental? As it looks very curly ontop to me. Could it be curly lettuce which is ok to eat?

Any lettuce other than iceberg is safe as far as I know, so the list goes on and on! Continental is fine, I feed mine on that and batavia (and also the lettuce just sold as "organic lettuce" which looks like batavia) regularly.

George & tiger have been eating little gems & seem to like them. I think any lettuce which has less water & isn't as tightly leaved is OK!
